Concord Lanes (651) 455-3220

Next Season changes

At last week’s league meeting, the majority vote was to stay at Concord Lanes in South Saint Paul for the 2018-2019 season.  Hump Day Bowlers will also help transition and develop a new league in Bloomington.   There will be two LGBTQIA leagues: one at Concord Lanes and one at AMF Southtown.  We are committed to making this a smooth transition for all bowlers on both sides of the metro.

While we understand this choice may be undesirable to some teams and/or individuals, it also provides another opportunity.   For those bowlers that voted to move to Southtown, we invite and support you in forming a new league at AMF Southtown for the 2018-2019 season.   And we also want to help in the transition of moving and creating a new league for those teams and/or individuals that would prefer the Bloomington location.   This would most likely include helping provide information such as copies of by-laws, treasury system, social media, forming a 501(c)(3) – for tax purposes – and a plethora of other needs when starting a new bowling league.  In the end, it would be support in mentoring and transition to ensure success for both locations in the coming year(s).

Our long-term hope is to keeping a relationship/partnership with this new transitioned league.  We can each benefit from this in recruiting new bowlers, perhaps shared events like a league vs. league friendly Roll-Off, or maybe a combined year-end banquet with both leagues.  These are a just a few ideas, as there are many other opportunities that could be investigated in time.  The main goal is to support each league and help grow LGBTQIA league bowling in the Twin Cities.

There are many details that may need to be addressed, but just to confirm, Hump Day Bowlers league will stay at Concord Lanes for 2018-2019 season.  And while we understand some individuals may not be back, that decision is understandable and in no way will be taken in a negative way towards any league member or team.  We look forward to a big finish for this season and working to an even better bowling season for next year with both leagues.
