About our league . . .

Hump Day Bowlers is one of a few LGBT Bowling Leagues in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Area.  We are beginning our 16th season in our new home at Concord Lanes in South St. Paul.  Our mission is simple.  Bowl and have fun!  That’s all.  We promote competition, but in a fun, social & friendly environment.  Our league is open to everyone, whether you are gay or straight, male or female, young or old.  Click HERE for an information page about how the league works.

We are looking for anyone interested in good-times bowling.  Our season starts the first Wednesday in September, and we bowl most weeks through March/April.  Teams of three, bowl three games each week.  This is a LGBT/Straight-friendly co-ed, handicapped league.  Whether you are an expert bowler or a novice bowler, everyone has an equal advantage with handicap pins added to your score.

The season, with breaks, bowls most weeks through March with Trimester champions, and a final League Roll-off at season end.  Cash prizes and trophies are awarded at the season-end banquet.

You don't have to be a great bowler, or a very experienced bowler.   And you don't have to have your own team.  Bring yourself.  Bring your friends.  We will help put together teams of 3-6 bowlers.  You can trade-off and do not need to bowl every week. Alternatively, you can sign up to be a substitute and bowl with a different team each week.

Our league is not all about fun and scores, or prizes & trophies.  We also feel the need to give back.  Last year we organized two 9-Pin No-Tap Bowls that benefited Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly LGBT Outreach & Bowl for the Cure®.  The league has raised a combined total of over $11,000 for these organizations and others over the last 5 years.  We hope to continue those this season in our new bowling center.  Check our Calendar for exact dates.

USBC Sanctioned League

Our members and league is sanctioned by the USBC.  The United States Bowling Congress officially launched Jan. 1, 2005, as the organization to serve amateur adult and youth bowlers in the United States. Today, USBC serves almost 2 million members. USBC is the national governing body for bowling as recognized by the United States Olympic Committee. USBC stands for values that include: credibility, dedication, excellence, heritage, inclusiveness, integrity, philanthropy and sportsmanship. Their mission is to provide benefits, resources and programs that enhance the bowling experience.

IGBO League Member

IGBO, the International Gay Bowling Organization with over 5000 members worldwide, continues to grow as the number one and official bowling organization for the LGBT community on the planet. They have members currently in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and United States of America. Currently they are reaching out to several European countries to expand their presence and bring together the global community to the sport of bowling in its various forms.

Every Wednesday is Hump Day, but will we ever have another Mark?

Thanks Mark for all those years making us laugh.
